Apple releases iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia public beta

Apple Unveils Public Beta of iOS 18.1 Featuring Advanced Apple Intelligence, Introduces Waitlist System

Apple has finally unveiled the first public beta versions of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, inviting eager users to explore the latest features ahead of their official release. This announcement comes right after the fourth developer beta was made available, making now the perfect time to dive into the new Apple Intelligence features.

If you’re keen to try out the iOS 18.1 or iPadOS 18.1 public beta on your iPhone 15 Pro or newer models, it’s easy to get started. Simply navigate to the Settings app on your device, go to General, follow it up by Software Update, and then tap on Beta Updates. Make sure your Apple ID is linked to your Developer Account to enable the download.

In addition to the mobile updates, Apple has also launched the first public beta for macOS Sequoia 15.1, bringing the same set of exciting Apple Intelligence features to Mac users. To install this on your Mac, you’ll need to head over to System Settings and ensure your Apple ID is connected to your Developer Account for the over-the-air update.

Just like the developer beta, the iOS 18.1 public beta introduces a waitlist for the new Apple Intelligence features. This waitlist allows you to be among the first to experience innovative tools like advanced writing utilities, enhanced Siri functionalities, smart summaries, and intelligent replies across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Although these updates are expected to be available to the general public by next month, Apple has yet to confirm an exact release date. Speculation suggests that iOS 18.1 and its counterparts might roll out in the latter half of October, potentially after Apple’s anticipated Mac event.

Keep an eye out for further updates as we stay on top of the latest announcements from Apple. Your next wave of device enhancements is just around the corner!
