Aoostar Nex395 Mini PC Gets a More Affordable 64GB RAM Option Amid Rising Memory Prices
Aoostar has introduced new, lower-priced configurations of its Nex395 mini PC, giving buyers a more accessible way to get one of the most powerful AMD Strix Halo systems currently available. The updated models arrive as DRAM and SSD prices continue to climb, forcing many PC makers to adjust pricing, reduce specifications, or rethink product plans altogether.
The Aoostar Nex395 originally launched as a premium mini PC powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 APU. At launch, the system was positioned as a high-end compact desktop, with a configuration offering 128GB of RAM and 2TB of storage. That version carried a price of around $2,100 in China before the latest wave of memory and storage price increases.
Now, Aoostar is offering the Nex395 with 64GB of RAM instead of 128GB. Buyers can choose between a 1TB SSD model or a barebones-style version with no storage included. The 1TB SSD variant starts at around 12,999 yuan, which is approximately $1,930, while the no-storage version is listed at around 11,999 yuan, or roughly $1,785.
The lower memory configuration appears to be a direct response to current component market conditions. By cutting the RAM in half and offering a storage-free option, Aoostar can lower the entry price while keeping the core performance hardware intact.
Despite the reduced RAM and storage options, the rest of the Aoostar Nex395 remains largely unchanged. The mini PC still features the same compact design and a strong selection of ports, including dual USB4 Type-C ports, dual 2.5G Ethernet, multiple USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, HDMI, DisplayPort, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The main attraction is still the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. This Strix Halo APU features 16 Zen 5 CPU cores, making it a seriously capable chip for a mini PC. In demanding multi-threaded workloads, it can compete with high-end laptop processors such as the Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX, making the Nex395 suitable for heavy productivity, content creation, software development, and other intensive tasks.
Graphics performance is another major selling point. The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 includes the Radeon 8060S integrated GPU, based on AMD’s RDNA 3.5 architecture. With 40 compute units, this iGPU is far more powerful than typical integrated graphics solutions. In synthetic tests, it can approach the performance level of an RTX 4070 Laptop GPU, which is impressive for a system without a separate dedicated graphics card.
That makes the Aoostar Nex395 an interesting option for users who want a compact gaming mini PC, a powerful workstation alternative, or a small form factor desktop capable of handling demanding creative and AI-related workloads.
However, the move from 128GB to 64GB of RAM may disappoint some users. The memory is not user-upgradable, so buyers need to choose carefully before purchasing. For general gaming, multitasking, video editing, and everyday high-performance use, 64GB should still be more than enough. But users who plan to run very large local AI models or memory-heavy professional applications may prefer the original 128GB version if they can find it.
Availability remains uncertain outside China. Aoostar sells products internationally, but the Nex395 has not received a broad launch in the United States. It is not yet clear whether the new 64GB RAM version will be released globally.
For buyers willing to import, the updated Nex395 could be an appealing compact powerhouse with flagship AMD Strix Halo performance at a slightly lower price. For everyone else, availability may depend on whether Aoostar decides to expand distribution beyond its current market.
