AOC has introduced a new addition to their gaming monitor lineup with the introduction of the Q27G3Z/D. This 27-inch 1440p IPS display not only has a high 260 Hz refresh rate but also boasts a peak brightness of 450 nits, ensuring vibrant and dynamic visuals for gamers.
The debut of the Q27G3Z/D in China positions it as a potentially global release under AOC’s AGON Gaming brand, reminiscent of its previous model, the Q27G3XMN/BK, which is now widely available. The Q27G3Z/D is set apart by its impressive specifications, designed to cater to the needs of serious gamers seeking fluid gameplay and sharp imagery.
Featuring a Fast IPS panel—a term denoting IPS technology with swift response times—the Q27G3Z/D achieves a blistering 0.5 ms MPRT and 1 ms GtG response times. Alongside these features is NVIDIA G-SYNC support to minimize screen tearing and ensure smooth gaming experiences.
The resolution of the panel is 2560 x 1440 pixels, matching the high refresh rate to provide clarity and detail in fast-moving scenes. However, it is worth noting that the monitor’s HDMI 2.0 ports will limit output to 1440p and 144 Hz when connected via HDMI. In contrast, utilizing one of the two DisplayPort 1.4 connections will enable users to take full advantage of the 260 Hz refresh rate without compromising on resolution.
The Q27G3Z/D also excels in color accuracy and gamut, with 92% DCI-P3 color space coverage and factory calibration to a Delta E of less than 2. Additional features tailored for gamers include G-Menu software, Picture-in-Picture (PiP), Picture-by-Picture (PbP), and Shadow Control for enhanced visibility in dark game scenarios.
AOC’s new gaming display is currently available for purchase in China at a price of approximately CNY 2,799, which is around $392 USD. While the monitor is initially limited to China, based on AOC’s track record, a wider release under the AGON brand could be expected in the future, providing a high-quality gaming experience to users around the world.
