AOC Unveils Massive 49-Inch QD-OLED Ultrawide With 240Hz Speed and 1,000-Nit HDR

AOC Agon Pro AGP497UCZD launches with a 49-inch QD-OLED display, 240Hz refresh rate, and DisplayPort 2.1

AOC has expanded its Agon Pro gaming monitor lineup with a massive new ultrawide display built for gamers, creators, and multitaskers who want a truly immersive desktop setup. The new AOC Agon Pro AGP497UCZD is a 49-inch curved QD-OLED monitor featuring a super-wide 32:9 aspect ratio, a sharp 5,120 x 1,440 resolution, and an ultra-fast 240Hz refresh rate.

The monitor is now available in China, where it is being sold as the Agon 7 Max. Its launch price is 6,999 yuan, which is roughly around $1,040. AOC has not yet confirmed when, or if, the monitor will launch in other regions.

The highlight of the AGP497UCZD is its 49-inch curved QD-OLED panel. With a 32:9 aspect ratio, the display is essentially like placing two 27-inch QHD monitors side by side, but without a bezel in the middle. That makes it especially appealing for racing games, flight simulators, open-world titles, video editing timelines, stock trading dashboards, and productivity-heavy workflows.

AOC pairs the large panel with a 5,120 x 1,440 resolution, offering far more screen space than a traditional 16:9 monitor. The 240Hz refresh rate is aimed at competitive gamers who want smooth motion, while the claimed 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time helps reduce blur and ghosting during fast gameplay. The monitor is also VESA ClearMR 13000 certified, further emphasizing its motion clarity performance.

For HDR, the AGP497UCZD can reach up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness at 3% APL. Standard SDR brightness is rated at 250 nits. The monitor also supports VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400, which is particularly important for OLED displays because of their ability to produce deep blacks and strong contrast.

Color performance is another major selling point. AOC says the monitor covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space and 98% of Adobe RGB. It also claims an average Delta E of less than 1, with each unit factory calibrated. That makes the AGP497UCZD not only a gaming monitor but also a strong option for creative work such as photo editing, color grading, and digital design.

Connectivity is one of the areas where this monitor stands out. The AOC Agon Pro AGP497UCZD includes DisplayPort 2.1 with up to 80Gbps bandwidth, giving it a more future-ready connection standard than many current high-end gaming monitors. It also includes HDMI 2.1 ports, USB-C connectivity, multiple USB-A ports, and a KVM switch.

The main USB-C port supports up to 90W power delivery, which allows users to connect and charge compatible laptops with a single cable. This is useful for anyone who wants to switch between a gaming PC, work laptop, or another connected system without constantly changing cables.

The built-in KVM function lets users control two connected computers with the same keyboard and mouse. Combined with picture-by-picture and picture-in-picture modes, the monitor can serve as a central display for both gaming and productivity.

AOC has also included several gaming-focused tools. These include Dark Boost for improving visibility in darker scenes, a dynamic crosshair, and an AI-assisted sniper magnifier with three zoom levels. The monitor also supports different screen sizes and aspect ratios, which can help users adjust the display area depending on the game or application.

Because OLED panels can be vulnerable to image retention over time, AOC has equipped the AGP497UCZD with its OLED Care system. This includes Pixel Orbiting, Pixel Refresh, Screen Saver, and Taskbar Dimmer features. The monitor also uses graphene cooling to help manage heat and protect the panel during extended use.

For audio, the monitor includes two 8W speakers with DTS Virtual:X support. It also features rear Light FX lighting for a more stylized gaming setup. The included stand supports height adjustment, swivel, and tilt, giving users flexibility when positioning the large display on a desk.

The AGP497UCZD joins a growing category of premium 49-inch OLED gaming monitors. One close rival is Samsung’s 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9 G93SD, which also offers a 5,120 x 1,440 resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. However, AOC’s use of DisplayPort 2.1 may give it an advantage for users looking for higher-bandwidth connectivity.

AOC previously introduced the Agon 6 Pro AG326UZD, a smaller 31.5-inch 4K QD-OLED monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate. While that model offers higher pixel density, the new AGP497UCZD focuses on maximum screen space and a more immersive ultrawide experience. It also improves USB-C power delivery, increasing from 65W on the smaller model to 90W on the new 49-inch display.

For gamers who want a huge curved OLED screen, high refresh rate, deep contrast, rich colors, and advanced connectivity, the AOC Agon Pro AGP497UCZD looks like a compelling new option. Its current China-only availability may limit access for now, but if AOC brings it to more markets, it could become one of the more attractive 49-inch QD-OLED gaming monitors in its class.
