AMD is gearing up to shake up the laptop world with its RDNA 4 architecture, as a fresh leak has unveiled six new GPU models aiming for high performance in mobile computing. This move marks AMD’s continued push to bring top-tier graphics capabilities to laptops, aligning with their previous announcements about the RX 9000 series GPUs.
According to recent insights, the flagship of this lineup is the RX 9080M, boasting Navi 48 silicon, 64 Compute Units (CUs), and 16 GB of memory. Alongside it, the Radeon RX 9070M XT is set to feature 48 CUs and the same memory capacity. These models are anticipated to rival NVIDIA’s higher-end mobile GPUs, though their exact performance remains a mystery.
For those seeking a balanced performance, the mid-tier options, the Radeon RX 9070 M/S, will offer 32 CUs with 8 GB of memory. Meanwhile, the more affordable RX 9060 M/S variants will include 28 CUs, also equipped with 8 GB of memory, setting the baseline VRAM for this series at 8 GB. While these details sound promising, they should be taken cautiously as information on RDNA 4 mobile models is still emerging.
Although AMD’s current focus remains on the RDNA 3.5 architecture for integrated GPUs, like the Strix Halo and upcoming Medusa Point series, the RDNA 4 graphics prowess might soon be showcased at Computex 2025.
