AMD Unveils FSR 4 and Hypr-RX in Latest Adrenalin Software Update for RDNA 4

AMD is gearing up to make a splash with its upcoming RDNA 4 graphics cards, debuting alongside the updated Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 25.3.1. This new software promises to enhance the user experience by integrating a suite of AI-powered features, while maintaining the interface users are already familiar with.

One of the standout features is Radeon Image Sharpening 2, providing enhanced image clarity across all applications without needing third-party APIs. Users can also enjoy video codec support for resolutions up to 8K at 75 fps, thanks to advancements in the RDNA 4 media engine.

In a move to expand functionality, AMD is providing a suite of utilities with the Adrenalin 25.3.1 update. Among these is AMD Chat, a local language model similar to competitors’ offerings, allowing users to converse with the system for GPU-specific queries and even generate local images. However, users should set aside 25 GB of disk space for this feature.

Another feature, the AI Apps Manager, will allow users to distinguish between AI-accelerated applications and regular ones within their gaming library. Meanwhile, the AMD Image Inspector is designed to help identify rendering issues, allowing users to report errors directly back to AMD as part of their User Experience program. While there might be a slight performance overhead during gaming, the true impact will be clearer with hands-on testing.

Both AMD Chat and Image Inspector can be personalized through the new AMD Install Manager, which also keeps AMD chipset drivers up to date. In the future, AMD’s ROCm software stack will receive enhancements tailored to RDNA 4, although specific details will be revealed later.

These updates suggest AMD is taking significant strides to enhance the graphics card experience with innovative features and improved system optimization, potentially setting a new standard in the industry.
