AMD Ryzen “Zen 6” CPU Samples Released: Innovative Architecture Boosts Core Count and Introduces Dual IMC Design

Exciting new insights have emerged about AMD’s upcoming Ryzen CPUs, built on the Zen 6 core architecture, thanks to 1usmus, the creator behind the Hydra tuning software. This next-gen line promises an evolutionary step forward, with significant enhancements.

Engineering samples of these AMD Ryzen CPUs are already in circulation, which suggests advancing development stages, given 1usmus’s connections in the industry. Notably, AIDA64 has added initial support for Zen 6 processors, hinting at the presence of samples guiding this support.

The Zen 6 architecture is expected to build upon Zen 5, with an emphasis on adding more cores per CPU chiplet. Previous leaks suggest options of up to 12 cores in a “Classic” setup and 16 cores in a “Dense” configuration, with a boost to 48 MB cache per chiplet.

A new dual Integrated Memory Controller design is also on the horizon, though it will maintain dual-channel memory configurations. This aligns with current AM5 motherboard designs, which support dual-channel memory.
