AMD Achieves Decade-High DIY Market Share in South Korea; RDNA 4 GPUs Popular Yet NVIDIA Retains 76% Dominance

Across various regions in Asia, there’s been a striking surge in demand for AMD GPUs, particularly the RDNA 4 series. This growth has significantly boosted AMD’s market presence in 2025, although NVIDIA still maintains a commanding lead.

In South Korea, the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 7700 XT are gaining remarkable momentum. This year, AMD’s share in the GPU market has climbed to nearly 21%, while NVIDIA holds a solid 76%, leaving Intel with a modest 3%. This marks a significant achievement for AMD, reaching a level not seen since 2019, largely thanks to the popularity of the RX 9000 series.

The first quarter of 2025 saw the Radeon RX 7700 XT driving considerable growth for AMD. Following the launch of the RDNA 4 GPUs, the RX 9070 XT and RX 9060 XT have been pivotal in elevating AMD’s market share. Meanwhile, NVIDIA’s most popular offerings in South Korea include the GeForce RTX 5060, which alone captures over 20% of the market, followed by the RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti.

AMD’s RX 9070 XT and 9060 XT are each responsible for around 7% of the market share, although NVIDIA continues to hold the majority. Future development could see AMD introducing more direct competitors to NVIDIA’s high-end models like the RTX 5080. Budget-friendly options, such as the Radeon RX 7600, remain particularly popular among the RX 7000 series, indicating strong interest across different price segments.
