Amazfit Rolls Out Navigation-Packed Update to Several Smartwatches

Amazfit September 2026 Update Adds Better Navigation, New Coordinate Formats, and Workout Improvements

Amazfit is rolling out its September 2026 software update to several of its popular smartwatches, bringing a fresh set of navigation tools, activity tracking refinements, and interface improvements. The update is available for select models across the Amazfit Balance, T-Rex, Cheetah, and Active series.

One of the biggest additions in this release is expanded coordinate support. Amazfit smartwatch users now get seven additional coordinate formats, making outdoor navigation more flexible for hiking, trail running, cycling, and other adventure-focused activities. These options can be found directly on the watch by going to Settings, then Preferences, and selecting Coordinates.

Navigation also gets a practical upgrade with more accurate turn alerts. This should help users receive better-timed guidance during routes, especially in unfamiliar areas. Amazfit has also added more waypoint types and icons, giving users clearer visual markers when planning or following routes.

The September 2026 update also introduces a new home screen customization option. Users can now choose whether to enable or disable the background blur effect in the watch interface. While this is a small change, it gives owners more control over the look and feel of their smartwatch.

Amazfit has also improved Raise-to-Wake sensitivity, which should make the display respond more naturally when users lift their wrist. This can make a noticeable difference in everyday use, especially during workouts or outdoor activities where quick screen access matters.

Fitness tracking has received attention as well. The post-workout experience for Rate of Perceived Exertion, also known as RPE, has been improved. This feature helps users record how hard a workout felt, offering more useful context alongside heart rate, pace, duration, and other training metrics.

The update also brings changes to several activity modes, including cycle tracking, strength training, pool swimming, and pickleball. These refinements are designed to make activity data more reliable and the overall workout experience smoother.

Some features included in the September 2026 release may already be familiar to certain Amazfit users, as parts of the update appear to have arrived earlier through previous firmware versions. There are also signs that a similar update is reaching the Amazfit Balance 2, although it has not been officially listed with this rollout.
