Amazfit Active 2 (Round) is getting a fresh update with firmware version 6.3.10.4, arriving a few weeks after the previously announced 6.3.8.3 (OTA 4.1) build. That earlier rollout appears to have been paused, likely due to a bug, and this newer release brings the same promised features along with a smoother deployment.
What’s new in 6.3.10.4
– Advanced running metrics: vertical oscillation and ground contact time for deeper performance insights
– New Ultra-marathon workout mode for long-distance training and races
– Jump rope reminders to help structure interval and count-based sessions
– Wrist raise to unlock during workouts, so you can check stats faster
– Hardware buttons respond even when the screen is off, making mid-run interactions easier
– Clearer heart-rate source indicator with a new icon for external Bluetooth sensors
– Quick screenshot shortcut: press both watch buttons at the same time to capture the screen
A note on BioCharge: the energy level monitoring feature is still not available on the Active 2 (Round) with this release.
Availability and how to update
– You can install the update through the Zepp app. Open the app, go to your device settings, and check for firmware updates.
– Rollouts typically start in the US, Canada, and China, then expand to more regions within about a week.
– The watch has been selling around the $79.99 mark, making these training and usability upgrades especially compelling for budget-focused athletes.
Why this update matters
Runners and endurance athletes get richer training data with vertical oscillation and ground contact time, plus an ultra-marathon mode tailored for very long efforts. The new heart-rate icon clarifies when data is coming from an external sensor, and the wrist-raise unlock and button responsiveness make in-workout navigation far more convenient. The screenshot shortcut is a handy touch for quickly saving watch-face layouts or sharing workout info.
If you were waiting on the OTA 4.1 features that didn’t land as expected, 6.3.10.4 is the update to watch for.
