AEMC Joint Venture Launches Next-Gen Semiconductor Adhesives R&D Hub in Southern Taiwan Science Park

Shin Bao Hong Technology, a new joint venture supported by three major Taiwanese companies, is moving to strengthen Taiwan’s semiconductor supply chain with a dedicated adhesives research hub in Tainan.

According to the latest details, the venture is backed by Advanced Echem Materials (AEMC), Nan Pao Resins Chemical Group, and Trusval Technology. The company has applied to set up a branch at the Tainan campus of the Southern Taiwan Science Park, a strategic location closely tied to semiconductor production and related high-tech industries. The plan is to establish an advanced research and development center specializing in adhesive materials used throughout semiconductor manufacturing.

Semiconductor adhesives play a critical role in modern chipmaking, supporting processes where precision, stability, and resistance to heat and chemicals are essential. As chips become more advanced and manufacturing requirements become stricter, demand has grown for next-generation materials that can keep pace with smaller nodes, advanced packaging, and higher performance expectations. By placing a specialized R&D center inside one of Taiwan’s key science parks, Shin Bao Hong Technology is positioning itself to collaborate more efficiently with nearby manufacturers and accelerate development cycles.

This move also highlights a broader trend: building stronger local ecosystems for semiconductor materials. With Taiwan already at the center of global chip manufacturing, investments in high-value materials such as semiconductor adhesive solutions can enhance competitiveness, improve supply reliability, and deepen the region’s expertise in critical upstream technologies.

If approved and developed as planned, the Tainan-based R&D center could become an important platform for innovation in semiconductor adhesive materials, supporting the next wave of chip manufacturing advances while reinforcing Taiwan’s role as a global leader in semiconductor technology.
