Acer Unveils New 5G-Ready Android Tablet for Faster Connectivity

Acer is back with a fresh Android tablet for India, and this time the big upgrade is 5G. After releasing the Iconia Tab iM11 last year with a Helio G99 chip and 4G connectivity, the company has now introduced the Acer Iconia iM11-22M5G, aiming to deliver a larger-screen entertainment and productivity experience with faster mobile data support.

The Acer Iconia iM11-22M5G features an 11.45-inch IPS LCD display with a sharp 2,220 x 1,440 resolution. It’s also built for smoother scrolling and more fluid animations thanks to a 90Hz refresh rate, while a peak brightness of up to 450 nits should help with visibility in brighter environments. Acer has gone with a premium-leaning build as well, using a metal body that measures just 7.85mm thick and weighs 535 grams, making it relatively slim for an 11-inch class tablet.

Under the hood, the tablet runs on the MediaTek 8791, an octa-core processor built on a 6nm process. Graphics are handled by the Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, a familiar setup seen on other mid-range platforms, which should be capable of handling everyday multitasking, streaming, casual gaming, and creative apps without feeling sluggish.

Battery life is supported by a 7,400mAh battery, paired with 18W charging. Out of the box, it runs Android 15, which delivers a modern Android experience even though a newer Android version is already available.

For cameras, Acer includes a dual rear setup with a 16MP main camera and a 2MP macro lens, while the front camera is 8MP for video calls, online classes, and selfies.

Connectivity is one of the main selling points here. Along with 5G support, the tablet also includes 4G, Wi‑Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2. Acer has also added several practical extras that tablet buyers often look for, including stylus support, a fingerprint scanner, dual SIM support, and quad speakers for louder, more immersive audio.

In terms of memory and storage, the Acer Iconia iM11-22M5G comes in a configuration with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage, and you can expand storage via a microSD card.

As for pricing in India, Acer lists an MRP of ₹44,999 (around $476), but it’s currently selling for ₹25,499 (roughly $270). That discounted price positions it as a more compelling option for anyone looking for a large Android tablet with 5G connectivity, a high-resolution display, and modern features without stepping into premium flagship tablet pricing.
