Acer has launched its new Predator Helios 18 AI globally, bringing a high-end 18-inch gaming laptop to players and creators who want desktop-class performance in a portable form factor. With a powerful hardware setup, a premium Mini LED display, and generous memory options in select regions, this laptop is clearly aimed at users who need serious performance for gaming, content creation, and demanding AI-powered workloads.
One of the standout features of the Acer Predator Helios 18 AI is its large 18-inch Mini LED screen. The display offers a sharp 3,840 x 2,400 resolution, giving users a crisp and detailed visual experience whether they are gaming, editing video, or working with high-resolution content. It also supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, which should make gameplay and general motion feel smoother than a standard 60 Hz panel.
Brightness is another major highlight. The Mini LED display can reach up to 1,000 nits peak brightness, making it suitable for vibrant HDR content and brighter viewing environments. Acer has also equipped the screen with 100% DCI-P3 color space coverage, a valuable feature for creative professionals who need accurate and rich color reproduction.
Power delivery is handled by a large 400 W power supply, underlining the laptop’s performance-focused design. The charger connects through a proprietary port located on the rear of the machine. Acer has also placed key connectivity options on the back, including an HDMI 2.1 port and two Thunderbolt 5 ports. This setup should appeal to users who want to connect external monitors, fast storage devices, docking stations, or other high-bandwidth accessories.
Pricing and configuration vary by region. In the United States, the Acer Predator Helios 18 AI starts at $4,499 with 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. Meanwhile, buyers in the UK and Eurozone get access to a higher-spec version featuring 96 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage. That upgraded configuration is priced at £4,999 in the UK and €5,999 in the Eurozone, with taxes included.
The Predator Helios 18 AI is positioned as a premium gaming laptop for users who want more than just fast frame rates. Its combination of a high-resolution Mini LED display, 120 Hz refresh rate, Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, and large memory options makes it a strong option for gamers, streamers, developers, and creative professionals looking for a powerful 18-inch laptop.
With its global release, Acer is targeting the top end of the gaming laptop market. The high price reflects its flagship ambitions, but for users who need a large display, advanced connectivity, and workstation-level memory capacity, the Predator Helios 18 AI could be one of Acer’s most capable laptops yet.
