Acemagic is leaning hard into nostalgia with its latest mini PC, the Retro X5, a compact desktop that channels the classic look of the original Nintendo Entertainment System. While the outside is all retro vibes, the hardware inside is anything but old-school—making this a standout option for anyone who wants a small, stylish computer that can still handle serious work and modern gaming.
First introduced earlier in February 2026, the Acemagic Retro X5 has now launched in China with a starting price of CNY 6,499 (around $941). That price point signals what this machine is aiming for: premium mini PC performance in a console-inspired shell.
Powering the Retro X5 is AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 from the Strix Point lineup. This is a high-end APU built for demanding tasks, and it comes paired with Radeon 890M graphics—one of AMD’s most capable integrated GPUs, sitting just below the company’s top-tier Strix Halo offerings. In practical terms, that means you’re getting a mini PC designed to deliver strong everyday responsiveness, creator-friendly performance, and surprisingly capable integrated graphics without immediately needing a dedicated GPU.
Acemagic is also giving buyers room to scale up. The Retro X5 supports up to 128GB of DDR5 RAM and up to 4TB of PCIe 4.0 storage, which is more than enough headroom for heavy multitasking, large creative projects, or expansive game libraries. To keep all that performance under control, the company says it has equipped the system with an advanced cooling setup designed to stay stable even under extreme workloads and gaming sessions.
Connectivity is another area where the Retro X5 looks well equipped. The port selection includes:
1x USB4
2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C
1x DisplayPort 2.0
2x 2.5G Ethernet
1x 3.5mm audio jack
Wireless support is modern as well, with WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 included. And because it features USB4, the Retro X5 can also work with external GPU solutions, offering a potential upgrade path for users who want desktop-class graphics power later on.
Other notable features include support for up to four displays, 100W Power Delivery support, and a compact form factor that fits easily on a desk, in a living-room setup, or in a minimalist workstation.
For now, the Acemagic Retro X5 is only confirmed for China, and the company hasn’t shared an official global release date. However, it has already been showcased on Acemagic’s international channels, which strongly suggests a wider launch could be coming soon.
