Absolum

Absolum Arrives on Xbox Later This Month

Dotemu has confirmed that Absolum is officially headed to Xbox consoles, bringing its stylish mix of roguelike progression and arcade beat ’em up action to a whole new audience. Developed in collaboration with Guard Crush, Supamonks, and Dotemu, the game launches on Xbox Series X|S on March 25, and it will be available day one on Xbox Game Pass.

If you’ve been waiting for a fast, hard-hitting action game that rewards skillful play while still delivering that “one more run” roguelite loop, Absolum is built for exactly that. The game first arrived on Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5 back in October 2025, and it’s now making the jump to Xbox with the same signature style and replay-focused structure.

Set in the world of Talamh, Absolum drops you into a kingdom where magic has been outlawed. The resistance is fighting back against Sun King Azra and his feared Crimson Order, and every battle pushes you closer to restoring magic to the land. That story backdrop isn’t just window dressing—the core fantasy is about taking forbidden power, learning to wield it, and turning it into an advantage against overwhelming forces.

Gameplay-wise, Absolum combines classic brawler DNA with deeper combat systems. Expect tight melee action enhanced by spells, counters, and upgradable abilities that let you shape each run. You’ll choose from four distinct fighters, each bringing their own strengths and combat feel, then dive into beautifully handcrafted stages where you’ll face unpredictable encounters and shifting routes.

One of Absolum’s biggest hooks is how it merges fast-paced beat ’em up action with roguelite replayability. Multiple paths, changing challenges, and the constant push to unlock stronger options give each run a fresh edge, even when you know the fundamentals. And for players who prefer to bring backup, co-op play lets you team up with friends to take on the Crimson Order together.

With Absolum launching on Xbox Series X|S on March 25 and arriving on Game Pass, it’s positioned as an easy pick for anyone looking for a new action-heavy roguelike game to jump into this month.
