The grey 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller is finally available to buy, more than two months after this color option was first revealed. Made to complement the Analogue 3D console, this retro-styled controller also works with Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Android devices, and Windows PCs—making it a flexible option for players who want classic Nintendo 64 vibes with modern convenience.
Originally released in July 2025 (after a long wait from its initial announcement), the 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller launched in black and white. In November 2025, 8BitDo added a grey version to the lineup, and after spending months in pre-order status, it has now officially gone on sale.
The Grey 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller is priced at $44.99 and is available through the 8BitDo online store and Amazon. That makes it slightly more expensive than the black and white models, which typically sell for $39.99. Aside from the colorway, there are no hardware or feature differences between the versions.
What makes the grey model stand out is its color-accurate throwback design. The controller’s grey shell is styled to resemble the original Nintendo 64 controller, complete with yellow C-buttons, a blue A button, a green B button, and a red Start button. The D-pad, shoulder buttons, and triggers are finished in a darker gray tone, completing the classic look.
Beyond the nostalgia, the feature list is built for modern play. The controller supports Bluetooth for wireless gaming and can also be used through a wired USB connection. It includes Hall Effect joysticks and triggers for improved durability and reduced stick drift compared to traditional analog designs, plus a turbo function for games that benefit from rapid inputs. Power comes from a 1,000mAh battery, with 8BitDo claiming up to 36 hours of use on a charge.
If you like the idea of matching your setup or collecting different styles, there’s more on the horizon. Alongside the grey version, 8BitDo has also announced additional “Funtastic Limited Edition” colors. These are available to pre-order and are expected to launch in February.
For anyone looking for an N64-inspired controller that pairs classic button styling with modern compatibility, the newly available grey 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller is an easy pick—especially if you want the closest look to the original hardware without giving up today’s features.
