Zeekr 9X Ultra AWD PHEV Brings 330 kW Charging and 885 HP to Europe
Zeekr is preparing to shake up Europe’s luxury SUV market with the new 9X Ultra AWD, a high-end plug-in hybrid that delivers the kind of charging speed usually expected from advanced fully electric vehicles. Instead of relying on a small hybrid battery like many traditional PHEVs, the Zeekr 9X Ultra AWD uses a much larger pack, serious electric power, and a 900-volt charging system designed to reduce waiting times dramatically.
Although the Zeekr 9X Ultra AWD may look like a full-size electric SUV at first glance, it is actually a plug-in hybrid. That detail makes its charging performance even more impressive. The SUV is equipped with a 55.1 kWh battery, giving it up to 111 miles of electric-only driving range. For daily commuting, school runs, and city driving, that range could allow many owners to use the vehicle like an EV most of the time.
When longer trips are needed, the combustion engine works as a generator to extend total driving range to around 458 miles. This setup gives drivers the flexibility of electric driving without the same level of range anxiety that can come with some battery-only vehicles.
The standout feature is charging speed. Thanks to its 900-volt electrical architecture, the Zeekr 9X Ultra AWD can charge at up to 330 kW when connected to a compatible DC fast charger. Under ideal conditions, the battery can go from empty to 80% in just 9.5 minutes. That puts this large luxury plug-in hybrid ahead of many electric cars when it comes to time spent at a charging station.
Performance is another major selling point. The all-wheel-drive powertrain combines two electric motors for a total output of 660 kW, equal to about 885 horsepower. Torque is rated at 690 lb-ft, giving the large SUV serious pulling power and quick acceleration. Despite weighing around 6,393 pounds, the Zeekr 9X Ultra AWD can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.1 seconds.
To balance that performance with comfort, Zeekr includes adaptive two-chamber air suspension as standard. The system offers 4.3 inches of height adjustment, helping the SUV adapt to different road conditions while maintaining the smooth ride expected from a premium flagship model.
Inside, the Zeekr 9X Ultra AWD is designed as a spacious six-seater with a 2+2+2 layout. The cabin focuses heavily on comfort, luxury, and passenger experience. Rear-seat occupants can use the space as a relaxing lounge or an entertainment-focused environment, making the SUV suitable for both executive travel and family use.
With its mix of fast charging, long range, high performance, and luxury-focused design, the Zeekr 9X Ultra AWD aims directly at established premium SUVs in Europe. Pricing starts at €119,500 including 19% VAT, which is roughly $134,000.
The arrival of this luxury plug-in hybrid shows how quickly the high-end SUV segment is changing. Buyers who want electric driving, rapid charging, long-distance flexibility, and strong performance may soon have a new contender to consider. Whether Zeekr can win over European luxury customers remains to be seen, but the 9X Ultra AWD clearly arrives with the technology and power to get noticed.
