NVIDIA appears to be gearing up to expand its lineup of budget-friendly GPUs. ZOTAC’s website recently hinted at a potential new addition: the RTX 5050 Ti.
The introduction of the RTX 5050 Ti could mark NVIDIA’s next move to capture the budget-conscious gaming market, but there are some uncertainties. As the competition intensifies, especially after AMD’s release of the RDNA 4 series, NVIDIA is striving to bolster its mid-range offerings. While AMD has gained traction, NVIDIA hopes to draw attention with this new 50-class series.
The mention of the RTX 5050 Ti is a first, so concrete details about its specifications remain under wraps. Historically, “Ti” models in the 60-class series offer higher clock speeds and increased VRAM, which could hint at a potential 16GB variant for the RTX 5050 Ti. This would be a strategic move, especially given the lukewarm reception of 8GB GPUs among consumers.
Its potential counterpart, the RTX 5050, sports 8GB of VRAM, a base clock of 2.31 GHz, and a boost clock of 2.57 GHz, using GDDR7 memory. If the RTX 5050 Ti follows suit, it would likely maintain this memory while focusing on competitive pricing.
However, some skepticism remains. It’s possible the RTX 5050 Ti reference was just a typo, as ZOTAC has also listed the RTX 5060 Ti on the same page. Nonetheless, if released, this would signify a noteworthy shift in NVIDIA’s approach to the 50-class GPU lineup, which has been relatively limited in recent years. As we await further information, the anticipation continues to build among enthusiasts and gamers alike.
