ZOTAC Unveils GeForce RTX 4070 GDDR6 GPUs With Prices Lower Than G6X Models 1

ZOTAC Launches Budget-Friendly GeForce RTX 4070 GDDR6 GPUs

ZOTAC has unveiled its GeForce RTX 4070 GDDR6 GPUs, available at more affordable prices compared to the GDDR6X models in the same lineup. Expanding the market options, ZOTAC joins other manufacturers introducing the RTX 4070 with GDDR6 memory.

The company has launched several RTX 4070 GDDR6 versions within the Twin Edge family, including a standard and two overclocked (OC) editions in black and white color themes. These GPUs feature GDDR6 memory running at 20Gbps, slightly slower than the 21Gbps of the GDDR6X models. Currently, the ZOTAC GeForce RTX 4070 12GB GDDR6 Twin Edge can be found for $549.99, which is $10 less than its GDDR6X counterpart.

Originally meant for the Chinese market, the ZOTAC 4070 GDDR6 is now available more widely. Notably, its pricing is more competitive than recent listings in Germany and Austria, where GDDR6 models were more expensive. Performance-wise, the GDDR6 edition matches the GDDR6X version, although there is a slight drop in 4K resolution performance due to the slower memory speed. Aimed primarily at 1440p resolution, users should find the GDDR6 card sufficiently powerful for their gaming needs.

Moreover, both the GDDR6 and GDDR6X models come bundled with a free copy of “Star Wars Outlaws,” valued at $69.99, adding extra appeal.

However, if prices align closely, it might be wiser to opt for the GDDR6X version for its slightly superior memory speed. The GDDR6X GPUs are plentiful in retail stores, often available for under $550, presenting a more attractive deal. But due to shortages in G6X memory, the availability of GDDR6 models is expected to increase, taking over inventory space.

This new offering from ZOTAC could be a game-changer for budget-conscious gamers looking for high performance without a premium cost. Keep an eye out as these become more widely available in stores.
