Zinwa Q27 BlackBerry-Style Android Phone Opens for Pre-Orders With QWERTY Keyboard and Android 16
The physical keyboard smartphone is making a quiet comeback, and the Zinwa Q27 is one of the latest devices aiming to bring that classic BlackBerry-style experience into the modern Android era. First revealed in 2025, the Zinwa Q27 is now available for pre-order, giving fans of tactile typing a new option in a market dominated by full-touchscreen phones.
The Zinwa Q27 stands out immediately because of its compact design and built-in physical QWERTY keyboard. For users who miss fast, accurate thumb typing, dedicated keys, and a more productivity-focused phone layout, this device could be an appealing alternative to today’s large slab-style smartphones.
The phone features a 4-inch AMOLED display with a 1080 x 1240 resolution. While Zinwa has not listed a high refresh rate for the screen, the panel is expected to operate at a standard 60Hz. Even so, the AMOLED display should deliver sharp visuals, strong contrast, and rich colors in a compact form factor.
Inside, the Zinwa Q27 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. It comes with 12GB of RAM and two storage options: 256GB or 512GB. Storage is also expandable, which is a useful addition for buyers who want extra room for apps, photos, videos, and documents.
For photography, the Q27 keeps things simple with a single 50MP rear camera and a 16MP front-facing camera. While it may not be designed as a camera-first flagship, the hardware should be enough for everyday photos, video calls, document scanning, and social media use.
The Zinwa Q27 also includes several modern smartphone features despite its retro-inspired design. It supports dual SIM, eSIM, NFC, a Hi-Fi speaker, a notification LED, and an X-axis linear motor for improved vibration feedback. These additions help make the phone feel more current while preserving the practical appeal of a physical keyboard.
Battery capacity is rated at 4,000mAh, which is respectable for a compact device with a smaller display. Charging support includes 33W PD wired fast charging and 15W Qi wireless charging. However, Zinwa has confirmed that a charger will not be included in the box, so buyers will need to use an existing compatible adapter or purchase one separately.
On the software side, the Zinwa Q27 is expected to ship with Android 16 out of the box. That makes it especially interesting for users who want a keyboard phone without giving up access to a modern Android experience, current apps, and updated system features.
Pricing starts at $420 for the model with 256GB of storage, while the 512GB version is priced at $480. The phone will be offered in two color options: black and white. Zinwa is also including a pre-applied screen protector and a free protective case with all pre-orders.
One important detail is that the company has not yet announced a shipping date. Zinwa says production will be based on the number of pre-orders received, meaning the final batch size will depend on demand. The length of the pre-order period has not been confirmed either.
With the Zinwa Q27, buyers who miss the feel of a true QWERTY keyboard now have another Android phone to consider. Its combination of Android 16, AMOLED display, Dimensity 7300 chip, wireless charging, expandable storage, and BlackBerry-inspired design could make it one of the more interesting niche smartphones for productivity-focused users in 2026.
