XPPen Magic Pro 13 Debuts as an Android 16 Drawing Tablet and Portable PC Display

XPPen Magic Pro 13 debuts as a powerful Android 16 drawing tablet with a 120Hz 3K display

XPPen has introduced the Magic Pro 13, a new Android drawing tablet designed for digital artists, illustrators, designers, students, and creative professionals who want a portable device that can work both as a standalone tablet and as a drawing display for a computer.

The XPPen Magic Pro 13 runs on Android 16 and features a 12.95-inch 3K LCD touchscreen with a sharp 3,096 x 2,064 resolution. One of its biggest highlights is the 120Hz refresh rate, which should make sketching, scrolling, and navigating the interface feel smoother and more responsive. The display also uses a nano-etched anti-glare surface with a paper-like texture, aiming to give artists a more natural drawing feel compared with standard glossy screens.

For color-focused creative work, the tablet covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut and 96% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. It also offers automatic brightness adjustment up to 650 cd/m², helping the screen stay visible in different lighting conditions. XPPen says the display includes Low Blue Light certification, which may help reduce eye strain during long drawing or editing sessions.

Powering the Magic Pro 13 is a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Users who need extra space for large art files, references, projects, or media can expand storage with a microSD card up to 2TB. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4, giving the tablet modern network and accessory support.

The included X4 Smart Chip Stylus is built for precision drawing. It supports 16,384 pressure levels, 5,080 LPI resolution, and up to 60 degrees of tilt recognition. These specs are aimed at giving artists better control over line weight, shading, brush strokes, and detailed illustration work. The stylus works alongside the tablet’s touch controls, allowing users to switch naturally between drawing, zooming, rotating the canvas, and navigating apps.

XPPen has also added custom software to help artists organize visual ideas and create sketches. This could make the Magic Pro 13 useful not only for polished artwork, but also for brainstorming, mood boards, quick drafts, and concept development.

Another key feature is Drawing Display Mode. With a single USB-C cable, the Magic Pro 13 can connect to a laptop or desktop and function as an external drawing monitor. This gives artists flexibility: they can draw directly on the Android tablet while traveling, then connect it to a PC or laptop for desktop creative software workflows.

Despite its large display and built-in battery, the Magic Pro 13 remains slim and portable. It measures just 6.65 mm thick and weighs 655 g, making it easy to carry in a bag for school, studio work, travel, or remote creative projects. Inside, it packs a 10,200 mAh battery. Both USB-C ports support 45W USB PD fast charging, while one of the ports also handles the PC drawing display connection.

For video calls, reference photos, scanning ideas, and online meetings, the tablet includes an 8MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera. It also comes with dual microphones and quad speakers, making it more versatile as an all-in-one creative and productivity device.

XPPen has given the Magic Pro 13 an IP54 rating, meaning it offers protection against regular dust exposure and water splashes. While it is not built for full water immersion, the added resistance is useful for a portable creative tablet that may be used in classrooms, studios, cafés, or outdoor sketching sessions.

The XPPen Magic Pro 13 is priced at $899 through XPPen’s official store, with wider online availability expected soon. With its Android 16 platform, 120Hz 3K display, pressure-sensitive stylus, expandable storage, fast charging, and ability to work as a computer-connected drawing display, the Magic Pro 13 positions itself as a premium portable drawing tablet for artists who want flexibility without being tied to a desk.
