Xiaomi Unveils Redmi A7 Pro: Budget-Friendly Powerhouse with a Massive 6,000mAh Battery for Around $101

Xiaomi is expanding its budget-friendly Redmi A series with the newly announced Redmi A7 Pro, an entry-level smartphone that focuses on a big screen, a larger-than-usual battery, and practical everyday features at a low price point. After last year’s Redmi A5 introduced a 6.88-inch display and a 5,200mAh battery, the Redmi A7 Pro steps things up in a few key areas.

A large 6.9-inch display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate

The Redmi A7 Pro comes with a 6.9-inch IPS LCD display featuring a 1,600 × 720 resolution. For an affordable phone, the standout is the 120Hz refresh rate, which can make scrolling and basic animations feel noticeably smoother than traditional 60Hz panels. Xiaomi also includes DC dimming and TÜV Rheinland certifications for Low Blue Light (software-based) and Flicker-Free performance, aimed at improving comfort during long viewing sessions.

Entry-level cameras for everyday shots

On the camera side, the Redmi A7 Pro is equipped with a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. This setup is geared toward casual photography, social media, and video calls, keeping costs down while covering everyday needs.

Unisoc T7250 performance, 4GB RAM, and up to 128GB storage

Powering the device is the Unisoc T7250, an octa-core chipset built on a 12nm process. The phone pairs the processor with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and offers up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, which should help with smoother app installs and general responsiveness compared to older, slower storage types commonly found in ultra-budget devices.

Massive 6,000mAh battery with 15W charging

One of the biggest selling points is the 6,000mAh battery, which is larger than what many phones in this price range offer. That capacity is designed to deliver extended usage—useful for students, commuters, and anyone who wants a phone that can go longer between charges. Charging support tops out at 15W.

HyperOS 3 based on Android

Software-wise, the Redmi A7 Pro runs HyperOS 3 based on Android. This gives buyers Xiaomi’s latest software experience on a low-cost device, with an interface designed to feel modern while supporting the basics most users rely on day to day.

Colors, design, and extra features people still want

Xiaomi is offering the Redmi A7 Pro in multiple color options: Black, Mist Blue, Palm Green, and Sunset Orange. The phone measures 8.15mm thick and weighs 208g. It also keeps two features many budget buyers specifically look for: a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Redmi A7 Pro price in Indonesia and availability

The Redmi A7 Pro has been announced in Indonesia starting at Rp 1,699,000 (around $101) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model. There’s also a limited-time pre-order price of Rp 1,499,000 (around $90) available until March 7, with sales expected to begin on March 13.

Xiaomi has not yet confirmed availability in other markets. However, the device has already cleared TDRA certification, suggesting a potential launch in the UAE as well.
