Xiaomi has introduced the Poco X8s, a new smartphone that aims to deliver flagship-style features at a mid-range price. With a bright AMOLED screen, a large battery, fast charging, and a versatile camera setup, the device is positioned as an appealing option for users who want strong everyday performance without paying premium flagship prices.
One of the biggest highlights of the Poco X8s is its compact 6.35-inch AMOLED display. The panel supports a 1-120 Hz variable refresh rate, allowing the phone to adjust smoothly depending on what is happening on screen. This helps deliver fluid scrolling and gaming while also improving power efficiency during lighter tasks. The display also reaches up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness, making it suitable for outdoor use, and offers a sharp 2,656 x 1,220-pixel resolution with a 460 PPI pixel density.
Battery life is another major selling point. The Poco X8s packs a 6,330 mAh battery, which should give users plenty of endurance for streaming, gaming, browsing, and photography. When it is time to recharge, the phone supports 100 W wired charging, making it a practical choice for users who need quick top-ups during a busy day.
For photography, Xiaomi has equipped the Poco X8s with a triple rear camera system. The setup includes a 50 MP main camera using a Light Fusion 800 sensor, a 50 MP telephoto camera, and an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera. On the front, there is a 20 MP selfie camera for video calls, social media content, and everyday portraits. This combination gives the phone more flexibility than many devices in its price range, especially with the addition of a dedicated telephoto lens.
The Poco X8s also comes with IP68 certification, giving it resistance against dust and water. Despite its large battery and durable design, the phone weighs 187 g and measures 151.1 x 71.8 x 8.06 mm, keeping it relatively slim and easy to handle.
At launch, the Poco X8s is officially available in Vietnam. The base model with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage is priced at VND 10,990,000, which is roughly $425. A higher-end version with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage costs VND 13,490,000, or about $522. Both variants are offered in three color options: Black, Blue, and White.
Xiaomi has not yet confirmed pricing or availability for other regions. However, with its high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, 100 W fast charging, large battery, IP68 rating, and strong camera hardware, the Poco X8s could become one of the more competitive mid-range smartphones if it expands to additional markets.
