Xiaomi Mijia Air Purifier 6C launches with stronger airflow, six-stage filtration, and a budget-friendly price
Xiaomi has introduced the Mijia Air Purifier 6C, a compact new air purifier designed for bedrooms, small apartments, and living spaces of up to 68 m². The latest model arrives with a stronger clean air delivery rate, an upgraded six-stage filtration system, and a lower launch price than some of Xiaomi’s existing air purifiers.
Despite its small footprint, the Mijia Air Purifier 6C appears to be built for serious air-cleaning performance. Xiaomi says the unit delivers a clean air delivery rate of 603 m³/h, which is higher than the figures listed for the Mijia Smart Air Purifier Pro and the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6. The purifier takes up only 0.063 m² of floor space, making it slightly larger than an A4 sheet of paper, while offering a reported fresh air volume of 9,500 L/min.
One of the biggest upgrades is the new six-stage filtration system. Xiaomi says the Mijia Air Purifier 6C uses a pre-filter, antibacterial layer, formaldehyde filter, additional filter layer, activated carbon layer, and UV sterilization. This setup is intended to target common indoor pollutants such as dust, pollen, pet dander, PM2.5 particles, bacteria, viruses, and formaldehyde.
For users concerned about indoor air quality after renovation, new furniture, or everyday household pollution, Xiaomi claims the purifier has a formaldehyde CADR of 381 m³/h and can remove 99% of formaldehyde within two hours. The company also says the device can filter 98% of cedar pollen and dust mites, 99% of cat dander, 98% of dog dander, and 99.99% of PM2.5 particles.
The Mijia Air Purifier 6C also includes antibacterial coating and UV disinfection. According to Xiaomi, this system can eliminate more than 99.9% of eight common bacteria and viruses within one hour, including 99.99% of H1N1. As with all manufacturer performance claims, these figures should be treated carefully until independent testing confirms real-world results.
Another useful feature is the circular LCD display, which shows real-time information for formaldehyde levels, PM2.5, temperature, and humidity. This makes it easier for users to monitor air quality at a glance without relying only on a mobile app.
However, the Mijia Air Purifier 6C is not a clear upgrade in every area. While it offers stronger airflow and an expanded filtration system, it also comes with a few compromises. Smart-home support appears to be focused on Xiaomi’s own Mi Home ecosystem, rather than broader compatibility with popular third-party platforms. That could be a drawback for users who already rely on other smart-home systems.
Noise levels may also matter for bedroom use. Xiaomi lists the purifier’s sleep-mode noise at 30.4 dB(A), which is quiet enough for many users but louder than some higher-end Xiaomi models. The 6C also does not include humidification, even though it can measure humidity. Buyers looking for both air purification and moisture control may need a more advanced model or a separate humidifier.
The Xiaomi Mijia Air Purifier 6C is currently available for pre-order in China at 1,099 yuan, or around $164. That pricing makes it an appealing option for shoppers looking for a compact air purifier with high airflow and advanced filtration at a competitive price.
For now, global availability remains uncertain. If Xiaomi brings the Mijia Air Purifier 6C to more markets, it could become an attractive choice for people searching for a powerful small-room air purifier, especially those who want better protection against dust, allergens, pet dander, PM2.5, and formaldehyde without spending on a premium model.
