Xiaomi is expanding its WiFi 7 lineup with a new budget-friendly router aimed at users who want next-generation speeds without paying flagship prices. Launched in China, the Xiaomi BE7200 Pro sits below the company’s higher-end BE19000 Pro, trimming a few premium extras like NAS-related features while keeping the core hardware and performance focused on fast, stable whole-home networking.
One of the biggest selling points is its antenna setup. The BE7200 Pro comes equipped with 8 high-gain antennas paired with an 8-channel signal amplifier. Xiaomi says this combination is designed to improve wall penetration and maintain a more reliable connection in homes where thick walls, multiple rooms, or crowded signal environments can cause dead zones and unstable speeds.
Under the hood, the router is powered by the Qualcomm NPro A7 WiFi chipset and is backed by 1GB of DRAM plus 512MB of flash storage. Xiaomi also emphasizes power management improvements and a large heat dissipation area (listed as 72,348), which should help maintain consistent performance during heavy use. According to the company, the router can handle up to 600 connected devices, making it a potentially strong choice for smart homes packed with phones, TVs, laptops, security cameras, and other always-online gadgets.
Speed is another major highlight. Xiaomi rates the BE7200 Pro at up to 7,200Mbps dual-band, with 5GHz positioned as the go-to band for demanding tasks such as smooth 8K streaming. To help the network stay responsive when multiple people are gaming, streaming, downloading, or working at the same time, the router includes AI-powered network management features that can dynamically allocate bandwidth depending on workload. There’s also an AI Mesh feature intended to extend coverage across larger homes while keeping performance steady from room to room.
Connectivity options are strong for the price category. The BE7200 Pro includes five 2.5GbE ports, which can be especially useful for fast wired connections to a gaming PC, NAS alternative setups, smart TV, or a multi-gig internet plan. Xiaomi also mentions advanced child protection tools and anti-hacking features, rounding it out as a more family-friendly and security-conscious WiFi 7 router.
In China, the Xiaomi BE7200 Pro is priced at CNY 1,199 (around $176). Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed a global release date yet, but the company often brings its routers to additional markets after the initial China launch. For buyers watching the WiFi 7 router space, the BE7200 Pro looks positioned as an affordable upgrade path for faster speeds, stronger coverage, and multi-gig wired networking without jumping to the most expensive tier.
