Xiaomi XRING 01 has officially been announced

Xiaomi Debuts XRING 01: A Groundbreaking 3nm SoC with 19 Billion Transistors and Advanced Features

Xiaomi has unveiled its groundbreaking XRING 01, marking a significant leap in the silicon race. This new entrant into the 3nm chipset arena stands toe-to-toe with heavyweights like the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Dimensity 9400 series, and Apple’s A19 lineup. Boasting impressive specifications, the XRING 01 promises to reshape performance benchmarks.

The chipset employs TSMC’s second-generation 3nm technology, packing 19 billion transistors into a compact 109mm² die. This design not only enhances power efficiency but also boosts overall performance. Xiaomi has opted for a unique 10-core configuration instead of the traditional 8-core layout. The architecture includes two Cortex-A520 cores, six Cortex-A725 cores, and two high-performance Cortex-X925 cores clocked at a blazing 3.90GHz.

A standout feature is the XRING 01’s 16-core ARM Immortalis-G925 GPU, ensuring superior graphics prowess. This chipset is built to support the latest tech standards like LPDDR5T RAM, Wi-Fi 7, UFS 4.1 storage, and USB 3.2 Gen 2.

Interestingly, a binned version of the XRING 01 powers the Pad 7 Ultra tablet. Even with reduced clock speeds, its Geekbench 6 scores remain unaffected. The flagship smartphone, Xiaomi 15S Pro, will debut this cutting-edge chipset, and enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating its performance capabilities.

With the XRING 01, Xiaomi is making strides to reduce reliance on giants like Qualcomm and MediaTek. Although it might take several years for the XRING series to become a staple across Xiaomi’s offerings, this move undoubtedly positions the company as a formidable player in the chipset domain.
