Xiaomi has officially introduced the Xiaomi Buds 6 in China, expanding its audio lineup alongside new Xiaomi 17 Ultra phone announcements. While the look and feel stay familiar, these new semi-in-ear earbuds focus on meaningful sound upgrades, smarter call quality, and longer everyday usability.
The Xiaomi Buds 6 keep a similar half-in-ear design to the previous generation, but the biggest improvement lands in wireless audio performance. Xiaomi has added Snapdragon Sound, a major win for anyone who cares about higher-quality Bluetooth music. With this integration, the Buds 6 support aptX Lossless with up to a 2.1 Mbps bitrate, enabling richer detail and clearer playback than many common Bluetooth codecs.
Xiaomi also upgraded the internal audio hardware. The Buds 6 use a triple-magnet driver unit paired with a 24K gold-plated diaphragm. According to Xiaomi, this combination boosts high-frequency sensitivity by 30% while delivering strong bass and clean, balanced sound—useful whether you’re listening to vocals, podcasts, or bass-heavy playlists.
For tuning, Xiaomi is highlighting collaboration with Harman’s Golden Ear Team. Users can choose between multiple sound modes, including Harman Audio EFX mode and a Master mode, letting you adjust the sound signature depending on what you’re listening to and how you like your audio.
Noise control is also part of the package. The Buds 6 include adaptive active noise cancellation designed to improve listening in changing environments such as cafés, commutes, or busy offices. On the call side, Xiaomi built in a three-microphone system with AI-powered wind noise reduction that can reduce ambient call noise by up to 95 dB, aiming to keep voices clearer even outdoors.
Battery life should be competitive for this category. Each earbud includes a 35 mAh battery, while the charging case packs 475 mAh. Xiaomi claims up to 6 hours of listening time with ANC turned off, and up to 35 hours total when combined with the charging case.
The Xiaomi Buds 6 also include a solid list of modern extras: an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, dual-device smart connection, Bluetooth 5.4, app-based controls, real-time recording, and Apple Find My support.
Color options include pearl white, titanium gold, moon shadow black, and nebula purple. In China, the Xiaomi Buds 6 are priced at CNY 699 (around $99) and are already on sale through Xiaomi’s official channels.
