January turned out to be a big win for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Microsoft bolstered the service with a wave of recognizable games, adding hits like Resident Evil Village, Star Wars Outlaws, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. It even delivered a fresh day-one release with Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, continuing the steady momentum that’s made the subscription library feel especially packed lately.
Now it looks like another major addition could be right around the corner. The official Xbox Game Pass account recently posted a quick teaser on X featuring an extreme close-up of an eye, asking fans to guess what game is “coming soon.” No name, no studio, and no extra clues were provided—but the imagery is doing most of the talking. The eye in the GIF strongly resembles the look of an Ikran (the iconic flying mount) from Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which has quickly become the top guess among players.
If the tease does point to Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, an official reveal could mean the game lands in the Game Pass lineup later this month. And because the title is already available on Xbox Series X|S and PC, those are the platforms where a Game Pass release would make the most sense.
For anyone who hasn’t jumped in yet, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is an open-world action-adventure set on Pandora’s Western Frontier, a region not explored in the films. You play as a Na’vi who was taken by the RDA and raised away from your people, only to return years later feeling like a stranger in your own home. The story centers on rediscovering your identity, reconnecting with Na’vi culture, and working alongside other clans to defend Pandora from escalating threats.
A big part of the appeal is that the main campaign can be played solo or with a friend through online two-player co-op, making it an easy pick for players who like story-driven adventures but also want the option to team up.
Gameplay leans heavily into exploration and survival. Pandora’s open world encourages roaming, gathering resources, and learning the land as you go. You can craft equipment, upgrade weapons, and unlock skills tailored to how you prefer to play. One of the standout features is bonding with a banshee, giving you the freedom to soar across the map and engage in aerial combat. On the ground, you can choose a more traditional approach using Na’vi weapons like bows and spear-throwers, or switch to human firearms such as rifles and shotguns for a different style of firefight.
For Game Pass fans, teases like this are part of the fun—and if the hint is accurate, a visually rich open-world adventure could soon join the growing list of attention-grabbing titles already on the service.
