Exciting news has emerged from the creative minds at the indie Japanese developer, PiXEL. They’ve decided to bring their dynamic anime-inspired on-rails shoot ’em up game, Angelian Trigger, to PC, launching on Steam in 2025. For the first time, players globally will have the opportunity to dive into this adventure, with language support in both Japanese and English. Previously released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch in Japan in December 2024, this marks a significant step in reaching a wider audience.
Angelian Trigger delivers a fresh take on the beloved pseudo 3D style shooter games of the past, designed to be accessible to gamers of all skill levels. Its thoughtful initial settings and helpful auxiliary weapons ensure that even newcomers to the genre can progress and enjoy the game.
Set in the sprawling city of Wati on the distant planet of Galadseek, the Eames Detective Agency finds itself tangled in a series of seemingly mundane cases. However, everything changes when they receive a mysterious request to investigate the verdant planet Sarius. Mia and Sheryl, the game’s protagonists, sense something amiss due to Sarius being under the control of the enigmatic planetary industry minister, Waslia. This request kicks off a gripping journey that leads them into a massive conspiracy.
Angelian Trigger offers thrilling 3D shooting action as players blast through levels, taking down enemies en route to epic boss battles. Each planet comprises four stages, contributing to a total of 24 stages in both the story and arcade modes. Additionally, the music mode introduces its own unique bosses for players to conquer.
Players can choose between the two main characters, who each come with distinct abilities and control styles. Mia boasts the power of double jumps and wields dual pistols, while Sheryl is equipped with a formidable large cannon and the ability to float. These diverse play styles allow for varied and engaging gameplay experiences even against the same foes.
Further enhancing the strategic depth of Angelian Trigger is support from the robot O-P2, which provides covering fire and defensive force fields. Players can make use of homing lasers to target multiple enemies simultaneously and score additional points by taking down enemy groups, adding an exhilarating sense of speed and strategy to the game.
Prepare to immerse yourself in this brand-new IP that promises a burst of action, stunning visual design, and invigorating gameplay that will keep players glued to their screens as they unravel the mysteries of a vast interplanetary conspiracy.
