By pressing the Windows key + V, users can see a pop-up window listing their recently copied text. Users can also configure their settings to allow clipboard history to sync across devices linked to the same Microsoft account.
The latest enhancement involves protective measures Microsoft put in place by updating clipboard formats to secure actions within private windows and tabs. This update isn’t just beneficial to Chrome users, but to all browsers based on the Chromium platform. Google, recognizing the importance of this update, made complementary changes to Chrome. Over on macOS, there’s also a new approach where copied text is automatically deleted to prevent sharing among Apple devices.
Additionally, changes in media preview for incognito mode were made—information pertaining to media content such as videos and music is no longer visible when adjusting volume or skipping through tracks. Whereas significant and often problematic updates like 24H2 usually capture more attention, the focus here has been on essential security improvements. Sure, technical issues related to sound or Auto HDR can be frustrating, but the joint efforts by Microsoft and Google underscore their commitment to prioritize user security.
