Where Winds Meet arrives on Xbox with a rare limited edition controller giveaway
Where Winds Meet has officially launched on Xbox, bringing the free-to-play open-world action RPG to Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. The release gives Xbox players the chance to finally step into the game’s martial arts-inspired world after its earlier debut on other major platforms.
Announced during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, the Xbox version marks a major expansion for Where Winds Meet. The game first became available on PlayStation 5 and PC through major storefronts in 2024, followed by Android and iOS in 2025. While Xbox players had to wait longer, the launch comes with an extra collectible surprise: a special Xbox Wireless Controller inspired by the game.
The limited edition Where Winds Meet Xbox Wireless Controller was created through a collaboration between Xbox and Everstone Studio, the Chinese developer behind the RPG. The controller features a clean white faceplate with artwork tied directly to the game’s story and characters.
On the right grip, the design shows Jiang Yan, also known as Uncle Jiang, carrying the protagonist as a baby. The game’s logo appears between the D-pad and the right thumbstick, while the left side of the controller includes a striking silhouette inspired by the world of Where Winds Meet. The result is a stylish custom controller that should appeal to fans of the game and collectors of special Xbox hardware.
However, there is one catch: this controller does not appear to be going on sale. There is currently no listed price, no retail availability, and no product page for the controller through Xbox’s official store. Instead, the special edition controller seems to be a promotional item.
According to the game’s official social media account, only 10 units of the Where Winds Meet Xbox Wireless Controller will be given away. That makes it an extremely limited collectible, especially for players who have been following the game since its earlier launches.
For new players, Where Winds Meet offers a vast action RPG experience set in a world inspired by ancient China, blending martial arts combat, exploration, storytelling, and online multiplayer elements. Its free-to-play model makes it easy for Xbox users to jump in without an upfront purchase, whether they are playing on console, PC, or through the cloud.
The Xbox version also supports account progression for players coming from other platforms. If you already play Where Winds Meet on mobile or PC, you can log in using the same account and transfer your save data to Xbox. This is a welcome feature for longtime players who want to continue their journey on a bigger screen or through the Xbox ecosystem.
There is an important limitation, though. If you create your character on Xbox first, you will not be able to bind that account to other platforms later. Players who plan to switch between devices should keep that in mind before starting fresh on Xbox.
With its Xbox launch, cross-platform progression options, and rare controller giveaway, Where Winds Meet is getting a fresh wave of attention. The game is available now on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud Gaming as of June 8.
