Vivo looks set to push smartphone photography even further with its next Ultra flagship. Early reports suggest the upcoming Vivo X300 Ultra could debut with a new 200 MP Sony IMX09E primary sensor, a notable upgrade over the already impressive camera system in the X200 Ultra.

According to information shared on Weibo by a well-known tipster, the Sony IMX09E is claimed to be technically superior to the LYT-900, featuring a 1/1.12-inch optical format, 0.7 μm pixels, and more than 100 dB of dynamic range. On paper, that combination should translate to sharper detail, better low-light performance, and stronger highlight and shadow preservation. The leak also hints at a 35 mm lens pairing for the main camera, a focal length beloved by street and portrait photographers. Thanks to the sensor’s size, it’s reportedly capable of maintaining high image quality even when cropped to around a 70 mm equivalent.

If these details hold, the X300 Ultra would directly challenge top-tier camera phones that also use 200 MP sensors, raising the bar for detail and dynamic range. While the X300 Ultra appears to be slated for a later launch, the broader X300 series is right around the corner.
