Viltrox DC-T1 Launches as a USB-C Secondary Display for Smartphone Vlogging and Selfies
Viltrox has introduced a new smartphone accessory in China designed for creators who want to get more out of their phone’s rear cameras. The new Viltrox DC-T1 is a compact secondary phone display that attaches to the back of a smartphone, giving users a clearer way to frame selfies, vlogs, livestreams, and handheld video recordings while using the higher-quality rear camera system.
The Viltrox DC-T1 features a 5-inch touchscreen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution, making it sharp enough for checking framing, focus, and composition while recording. With a brightness rating of 400 nits, the screen should be suitable for indoor shooting and general outdoor use, though very bright sunlight may still require some shade for the best visibility.
Unlike wireless external phone monitors, the DC-T1 connects through USB-C. It mirrors the smartphone’s display, which means the connected phone must support USB-C video output. This is an important detail for buyers to check before purchasing, as not every USB-C smartphone can send display output through its port.
Viltrox has equipped the DC-T1 with three USB-C ports to support a more complete mobile shooting setup. One port handles the display input from the smartphone, another supports power passthrough, and the third is designed for connecting a microphone. This makes the device more useful for vloggers and content creators who want better audio while recording with their phone.
The display itself does not include built-in magnets. Instead, it can be mounted to a phone using a magnetic attachment system, giving users flexibility depending on their phone case or filming rig. The DC-T1 also includes a 1/4-inch screw port and a shoe mount, allowing creators to attach extra gear such as compact lights, microphones, or other camera accessories.
For quick adjustments during filming, the Viltrox DC-T1 includes physical shortcut buttons on its body. These controls allow users to flip the screen orientation and adjust brightness without needing to dig through menus, which can be especially helpful while recording on the move.
The Viltrox DC-T1 has launched in China with a price of CNY 499, which is approximately $74. At the moment, Viltrox has not confirmed whether the secondary phone display will be released globally. However, given the brand’s existing international presence in the camera accessory market, a wider launch could be possible in the future.
For smartphone creators who rely on rear cameras for better image quality, the Viltrox DC-T1 could be a practical and affordable tool.
