Verho: Curse of Faces Brings Dark Fantasy RPG Horror to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch on July 30
Publisher CobraTekku Games and developer Kasur Games have announced that Verho: Curse of Faces is heading to consoles. The atmospheric dark fantasy RPG will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on July 30. On the same day, the PC version will receive a major “Chaos” update.
Inspired by classic first-person dungeon-crawling RPGs, Verho: Curse of Faces drops players into the grim and dangerous world of Yariv, a land where revealing your face means certain death. To survive, every inhabitant must wear a mask. But these masks are more than simple protection. They define identity, shape abilities, and determine how each character approaches combat and exploration.
Players step into the role of a nameless protagonist searching for the truth behind the deadly curse that has consumed Yariv. The journey promises a mix of oppressive atmosphere, haunting mystery, challenging battles, and character-driven encounters with the strange residents of this cursed world.
One of the game’s standout ideas is its mask-based class system. Each mask represents a different playstyle, from heavy melee warriors to fast duelists and powerful spellcasters. However, Verho: Curse of Faces does not lock players into one rigid path. Character progression remains flexible, allowing players to evolve their build in any direction as the adventure unfolds.
That freedom is a major part of the experience. Players can experiment with different weapons, spells, abilities, and combat approaches, making each playthrough feel distinct. Whether you prefer close-range combat, agile movement, or magic-focused strategies, the game encourages creativity and customization.
The world of Yariv is designed to feel hostile, mysterious, and full of hidden stories. Beyond the central curse, players will meet NPCs shaped by their own suffering, secrets, and personal tragedies. Many of these characters offer quests, unusual challenges, and deeper insight into the broken land they inhabit.
Visually, Verho: Curse of Faces leans heavily into a retro 32-bit aesthetic. Its low-poly models, rough textures, and deliberately old-school presentation evoke the look and feel of PlayStation 1-era fantasy games. Rather than simply imitating the past, the style helps strengthen the game’s unsettling tone, giving Yariv a cold, dreamlike, and oppressive personality.
For fans of dark fantasy RPGs, retro dungeon crawlers, and atmospheric exploration games, Verho: Curse of Faces aims to deliver a nostalgic but fresh experience. With its mask-driven identity system, eerie worldbuilding, flexible character builds, and console release arriving soon, the game is shaping up to be one to watch for players who enjoy challenging fantasy adventures with a haunting edge.
Verho: Curse of Faces launches for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on July 30, alongside the Chaos update for the existing PC version.
