Upcoming 1.0 Launch for Hades 2 Teased by Steam Achievements Error

Supergiant Games, the creative minds behind the praised roguelike RPG Hades, has been busy crafting Hades 2 since 2021. Launched in Early Access on May 6, 2024, it seems the game is nearing its full release, following an unexpected leak of all 49 Steam achievements.

This accidental leak occurred on July 29, 2025, and was spotted by fans on the r/HadesTheGame subreddit. Sharp-eyed players noticed the update at 18:59 UTC, and it was swiftly retracted within two hours.

The leak has sparked speculation that the full release of Hades 2 might be imminent. The achievements hint at exciting gameplay elements like Melinoe, the protagonist, fulfilling various prophecies. For context, the original Hades left Early Access in 2020, also featuring 49 achievements linked to players’ save data.

Hades focused on Zagreus’s epic escape from the underworld to find his mother, Persephone, relying heavily on random boons and combat skills. In Hades 2, the story shifts to his sister Melinoe, who embarks on a daring journey through the Underworld starting from the City of Ephyra. Her mission: to liberate her family and the Underworld from the grip of Chronos.

Supergiant Games initially hinted that Patch 10 might be the last update before version 1.0’s release. However, Patch 11 recently arrived with balance tweaks and fixes, suggesting a bit more development time is needed. Yet, the Steam Achievements leak has fans speculating about a sudden launch announcement, possibly at the upcoming Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase.

Known for surprising releases, Supergiant Games may follow a similar path with Hades 2. There’s even talk about its potential launch as a timed console exclusive on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, before hitting PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X. The game’s Early Access launch saw impressive success with a peak of 103,567 concurrent players and a user score of 94.87% from over 67,000 reviews on Steam.

As the gaming community waits in eager anticipation for Hades 2’s full release, Supergiant Games continues to keep details under wraps, heightening the excitement for its official debut.
