Qualcomm has unveiled its latest innovation in mobile technology with the introduction of the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. Previously known as Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, this powerhouse is designed to set new standards in mobile processing.
At the heart of the Snapdragon 8 Elite lies the impressive CPU featuring Oryon cores. The two main cores can reach blazing speeds of up to 4.32 GHz, while six additional smaller cores maintain a robust 3.53 GHz. To ensure optimal performance across various applications, the CPU is well-equipped with 24MB of L2 cache, which is smartly divided into 12MB for the Prime cores and another 12MB dedicated to the Performance cores.
In the graphics department, the Snapdragon 8 Elite comes with the Adreno 830 GPU. This GPU promises a 40% boost in performance along with a 35% increase in ray tracing acceleration. With three GPU slices each clocked at 1.1 GHz, it supports the latest graphics technologies and APIs, including Unreal Engine, Nanite, and Chaos Engine, bringing a new level of graphical fidelity to smartphones.
This cutting-edge chip is anticipated to make its way into some of the most popular smartphones, including the Realme GT7 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S25, and Xiaomi 15, raising the bar for mobile performance and user experience.
With the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Qualcomm is poised to redefine what users can expect from their mobile devices, offering unprecedented speed and visual capabilities that cater to both everyday needs and high-performance tasks.
