Unveiling Samsung’s EM32DX: A Revolution in E-Paper Technology

In April 2025, Samsung introduced the groundbreaking Color E-Paper EM32DX, a vibrant 32-inch e-ink display tailored for commercial venues like retail shops and food establishments. This innovative display is notable for its ability to showcase static content without needing a continuous power supply, setting a new benchmark in energy conservation and sustainability.

The Color E-Paper employs advanced microcapsule ink technology, where each capsule contains red, yellow, blue, and white pigments. These pigments rise to the surface when an electric current is applied, similar to traditional printing. Once the image is created, it remains visible without further power usage. With a sleek thickness of just 8.6 mm and a lightweight design weighing only 2.5 kg with the battery, the display offers versatile installation options.

A standout feature is Samsung’s proprietary Color Imaging Algorithm, which can produce up to 2.5 million shades using just six base colors. This technology enhances color richness by a factor of 40 compared to conventional e-paper, delivering images that are smooth and easy on the eyes.

Managing the system is seamless with the Samsung VXT platform, which includes features such as color preview, layout planning, and content updates. Additionally, the display’s body incorporates recycled plastics and comes in eco-friendly packaging.

The Samsung Color E-Paper earned accolades at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2025, and Samsung has announced plans to introduce more display sizes while continuing to advance in color optimization.
