SwitchBot has introduced the Keypad Vision Pro, a new high-end smart lock keypad designed for fast, flexible, and largely contactless door unlocking. Rather than being a full smart lock on its own, it’s an add-on keypad that works with SwitchBot smart locks, including the SwitchBot Lock Pro, giving households and small businesses a wide menu of secure entry options.
Right now, the SwitchBot Keypad Vision Pro is being sold at a launch discount in several regions. In the US, the suggested price of $130 is reduced by 20%, bringing it to $104. In the UK, it’s listed at £170 with £30 off. Across Europe, it’s available for pre-order at €170 with a €30 discount, with shipments expected around mid-February.
What makes the Keypad Vision Pro stand out is the number of unlocking methods built into one device. The headline feature is facial recognition, which goes beyond a simple image match. SwitchBot says the keypad creates a 3D scan, a detail intended to make it harder to fool with something like a photo. The keypad also supports palm vein scanning, fingerprint recognition, and traditional passcodes entered via the physical keys. Power is another practical focus. The Keypad Vision Pro runs on a lithium battery rated for up to one year of battery life, and there’s also an option for a fixed power supply. SwitchBot additionally notes that it can be powered by a solar panel, which could be appealing for high-traffic entrances or for anyone who wants to reduce battery maintenance.
For workplaces and shared properties, the keypad is positioned as a solid fit thanks to multi-user support. It can store palm vein profiles for up to 100 users, which could simplify access for small offices, clinics, studios, or rental properties where managing keys is a recurring hassle.
