ASUS has just unveiled its flagship AMD AM5 motherboard, the ROG Crosshair X870E HERO BTF, which is geared for enthusiasts with a stellar design focused on overclocking and robust power delivery.
Earlier this year, ASUS began its BTF (Back-To-Future) journey with the TUF Gaming B850-TUF WIFI. Now, they’ve taken it up a notch with the eagerly awaited ROG Crosshair X870E HERO BTF, officially launching today.
This motherboard offers all the high-performance features you would expect from a top-tier product. It boasts an impressive 18 + 2 + 2 power phase design, ensuring smooth overclocking for AMD’s Ryzen 9000 CPUs and DDR5 memory up to 8600 MT/s and 256 GB. This beast is powered by dual 8-pin connectors.
Engineered for overclocking enthusiasts, the board includes advanced BIOS options such as Nitropath for memory boosts, ASUS Enhanced Memory Profile (AEMP), Dynamic OC Switcher, Core Flex, PBO enhancement, and a built-in clock generator for precise tuning.
Cooling is well-handled with large integrated VRM heatsinks and I/O cover featuring a heatpipe solution. Storage options are abundant with five M.2 slots and four SATA III ports, featuring three PCIe 5.0 x4 slots and two PCIe 4.0 x4 slots. Installation is tool-free thanks to a Q-release mechanism covering all M.2 slots.
Connectivity is comprehensive with 20 USB ports divided between the back and front, including USB4, USB 10Gbps, USB 20Gbps, and more. While ASUS remains tight-lipped about pricing and availability, the ROG Crosshair X870E HERO BTF is expected on shelves soon, likely priced higher than its standard HERO counterpart, which currently retails at around $600-$650.
