World of Warcraft is on the brink of a major milestone—its 20th anniversary! In true WoW fashion, Blizzard is refreshing old content to make it feel brand new just in time for The War Within expansion, kicking off on November 1. This special event promises an array of new goodies, including toys, armor appearances, mounts, and more. Here’s a sneak peek of what players can look forward to:
Blackrock Depths Reimagined
Blackrock Depths is making a triumphant return, loaded with rewards that fit the current content season. Whether you’re diving in with an LFR group or joining a flex group of 10 to 15 players on Normal or Heroic difficulty, you’ll face eight familiar bosses that will ring nostalgic bells for veteran adventurers.
Dive Back Into Original Dungeons
Remember the overhaul Cataclysm gave to Azeroth back in 2010? Well, it’s time to relive the original dungeon experiences! Through timewalking, players can revisit the OG Deadmines. The anniversary event will also bring back other beloved dungeons:
Dire Maul
Zul’farrak
Stratholme
Epic Boss Battles in Tanaris
The action will center around the Caverns of Time, where two legendary bosses from past expansions will make their grand reappearance. First up is the Sha of Anger from Mists of Pandaria, roaring for challengers. Next, we have Archavon the Stone Watcher, the final boss of Vault of Archavon in Wrath of the Lich King. If your faction controlled the open-world PvP zone Wintergrasp, you’re likely familiar with him.
Help Chromie Make Time Right
Chromie needs your help! The time-traveling gnome-dragon has a special task involving the Gates of Ahn’qiraj that requires assistance. This scenario, designed for 10 to 20 players, can be queued for in the Group Finder. Heroes of Azeroth will help Chromie untangle the timeline and send misplaced enemies back to their proper places.
Fun Mini-Games and Exclusive Rewards
In addition to the main events, players can engage in mini-games, such as party guest management. Almost every activity during the anniversary will reward a special bronze currency, which can be used to unlock various cosmetics. From toys and mounts to the revamped tier 2 armor sets with updated textures, there’s something for everyone.
