Trump Media Plans Truth API for Wall Street With Fees Reportedly Reaching $100,000 a Month
Trump Media & Technology Group is preparing to turn Truth Social posts into a premium data product for Wall Street, with a new service reportedly designed to give trading firms faster access to market-moving posts.
The product, expected to be called Truth API, is reportedly scheduled to launch on August 1, 2026. According to people familiar with the discussions, the company has been speaking with traders and hedge funds about pricing that could reach as high as $100,000 per month.
Unlike the standard Truth Social experience aimed at everyday users, Truth API appears to be built specifically for institutional clients, especially algorithmic trading desks and high-frequency trading firms. The service would deliver posts from the platform’s ten highest-ranking accounts in real time, potentially reaching subscribers faster than normal platform notifications.
The appeal for Wall Street is clear: speed matters. In modern financial markets, a few milliseconds can make a major difference. Trading algorithms are designed to react instantly to new information, and social media posts from influential political or business figures can quickly affect stock prices, commodities, currencies, and crypto assets.
Trump’s Truth Social account, which has millions of followers, has already shown the ability to move markets. Posts related to tariffs, geopolitical events, companies, and economic policy have previously triggered sharp reactions across multiple asset classes. For firms that rely on fast data and automated trading strategies, earlier access to those posts could be valuable.
Trump Media’s interim CEO Kevin McGurn said the company sees an opportunity to create a licensed recurring revenue stream from activity that is already influencing markets. In other words, if traders are already watching Truth Social for signals, the company wants to package that access as a paid institutional product.
The move also reflects a broader trend across social media and financial technology. Large platforms increasingly sell structured data access to businesses, developers, and financial institutions. These data feeds can help firms monitor sentiment, breaking news, policy changes, and public commentary that may affect investment decisions.
Trump Media has also suggested that some firms may already be scraping Truth Social data without permission, potentially violating the platform’s terms of service. Ahead of the Truth API launch, the company is expected to make unauthorized data collection more difficult, encouraging institutional users to pay for official access instead.
If launched as planned, Truth API could become a notable new revenue source for Trump Media, while also deepening the connection between social media, politics, and financial markets. For Wall Street, the product could offer one thing traders are always willing to pay for: faster information.
