HTX Surpasses $5B in August Trading as TradFi and Crypto Momentum Builds

HTX Trading Volume Surpasses $5.4 Billion in August as TradFi Expansion Accelerates

HTX gained strong momentum in August 2026 as rising market activity helped drive more than $5.4 billion in combined spot and futures trading volume. The cryptocurrency exchange also continued broadening its reach beyond digital assets by adding more traditional finance products, including stocks, indices, ETFs, and other investment instruments.

A major driver behind the surge was HTX’s third trading championship, which was launched as part of the exchange’s 13th-anniversary celebrations. The event attracted more than 40,000 traders and generated significant activity across both spot and futures markets. Spot trading volume during the competition exceeded 1.25 billion USDT, while futures trading volume climbed above 4.17 billion USDT.

Beyond the trading contest, HTX’s broader strategy is becoming increasingly clear. The platform is working to position itself as more than just a crypto exchange by expanding access to traditional financial markets. In August, HTX added 56 new futures instruments, including 41 stock and index-related products along with 15 cryptocurrency assets.

With these additions, HTX now offers 210 traditional finance assets and related instruments. The selection includes US-listed securities, global indices, ETFs, Japanese and South Korean companies, and other major market products.

Several of the newly added assets stand out for traders interested in technology, Asia-Pacific markets, and high-growth sectors. The latest lineup includes SoftBank, PDD Holdings, Shein, Unitree Robotics, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, the Nikkei 225, and South Korea’s KOSPI index. HTX has also been focusing its TradFi expansion on industries such as artificial intelligence hardware, semiconductors, e-commerce, and high-dividend stocks.

Traditional finance products accounted for around $1.6 billion of HTX’s August turnover, highlighting how quickly non-crypto assets are becoming part of the platform’s overall trading activity. This follows a strong July performance, when HTX’s TradFi zone reached approximately $2.5 billion in cumulative trading volume.

Crypto trading also remained active throughout the month. HTX became the first exchange to list the Chinese meme coin Niu Lai on its spot market, and the token surged by 460% after listing. The exchange also added AI-related tokens TAO and DOS, reflecting continued demand for digital assets tied to artificial intelligence narratives.

Automated trading saw noticeable growth as well. Futures bot trading volume increased by 36% compared with the previous month, while HTX expanded its copy trading and bot trading services to include 20 TradFi assets, including US stocks. This suggests that more users are looking for automated strategies across both crypto and traditional markets.

HTX’s Earn products also attracted stronger interest during the anniversary campaign. More than 30,000 users subscribed to Earn offerings during the promotion, while subscriptions for new cryptocurrency products rose by more than 10% compared with July. Margin trading activity improved too, with the average daily number of margin traders increasing by 19%.

The August results build on an already active first half of 2026 for HTX. From January through June, the exchange reported more than $870.9 billion in combined spot and futures trading volume.

HTX’s latest performance shows how crypto exchanges are increasingly blending digital assets with traditional finance. By expanding into stocks, indices, ETFs, and automated trading tools, HTX is aiming to attract a wider range of traders who want access to both crypto markets and mainstream financial instruments from a single platform.
