New 1500-Lumen Bike Light Frees Up Handlebar Space by Mounting Under Your Cycling Computer
Keeping a bike light on your handlebars is essential for safety, but modern cockpit setups can get crowded fast. Between cycling computers, action cameras, phone mounts, bells, and other accessories, finding a clean place to install a front light is not always easy. A new Kickstarter bike light project is designed to solve that problem by mounting directly beneath a cycling computer bracket, helping riders keep their handlebar setup tidy while still adding powerful front illumination.
The new light is aimed at cyclists who already use popular GPS bike computers. According to the manufacturer, it is compatible with Garmin cycling computer mounts, while Wahoo and Bryton setups require an additional adapter. Support is also listed for mounts from Igpsport, Xoss, Blackbird, Magene, Rockbros, and select Giant series. However, riders using Decathlon cycling computers may be disappointed, as those devices are not currently supported.
The headline feature is the under-computer mounting design. Instead of taking up extra space on the handlebar, the light attaches beneath the existing cycling computer mount. This gives the front of the bike a cleaner, more aerodynamic look and can be especially useful for road cyclists, gravel riders, commuters, and anyone who prefers a clutter-free cockpit.
In terms of performance, the bike light is rated at up to 1500 lumens, which should provide strong visibility for night riding, early morning commutes, and low-light conditions. It weighs around 150 grams, making it reasonably lightweight for a high-output front bike light.
The device is also rated IPX6 waterproof. That means it should handle rain, road spray, and powerful water jets without issue. However, it is not designed for full submersion, so riders should avoid dropping it into water or washing it under extreme conditions for extended periods.
The light includes several features commonly found on higher-end bike lights. Riders can switch between low beam, high beam, and daytime running light modes. The beam angle can also be adjusted, which helps improve visibility without blinding oncoming cyclists, drivers, or pedestrians. An included remote control allows users to change settings without taking their hands off the handlebars, adding convenience during rides.

This allows the light to provide backup power to a phone, cycling computer, or small accessory when needed. However, the output is limited to 2A, or roughly 10 watts, so it should be viewed as an emergency charging option rather than a full replacement for a dedicated power bank.
While the mounting approach is practical, the idea is not entirely new. Other brands already offer front bike lights designed to sit beneath cycling computers, and some competing models are available at relatively affordable prices. That means the main appeal of this Kickstarter project will depend on its final price, build quality, beam performance, battery life, and how well the mounting system works in real-world riding conditions.
For cyclists struggling with limited handlebar space, this new under-mount bike light could be a smart solution. Its 1500-lumen output, IPX6 water resistance, remote control, USB-C emergency charging, and support for several major cycling computer systems make it an interesting option. However, as with any crowdfunding product, buyers should consider the usual risks, including possible delays, changes to specifications, or differences between early promises and the final retail product.
