Tissot PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard Special Edition Debuts With Pocket Watch Conversion Kit
Tissot has introduced a bold new addition to its popular PRX collection with the PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard Special Edition, a mechanical watch created in collaboration with NBA star Damian Lillard. Priced at $2,075 in the United States, the new model brings together Swiss watchmaking, basketball-inspired design details, and an unusual convertible case system that lets the watch transform into a pocket watch.
The latest PRX collaboration takes a very different direction from more traditional versions of the lineup. Instead of a closed dial, the watch features a skeletonised design that reveals the mechanical movement inside. This open-worked layout gives the PRX a more technical and eye-catching appearance, allowing wearers to see the inner components in motion.
The watch is housed in a 44 mm stainless steel case, making it larger than the standard 40 mm PRX models. It measures 11.2 mm thick and weighs 95 grams, giving it a noticeable presence on the wrist. Tissot has fitted the watch with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, while the transparent caseback includes Damian Lillard’s signature. Water resistance is rated at up to 100 metres.
Design details throughout the watch reflect Lillard’s personality and career. Burgundy accents appear around the skeletonised dial, adding warmth and contrast to the metallic construction. At the 9 o’clock position, a small seconds display features a gold-coloured hand shaped after Lillard’s signature monogram. The design also includes two vertical lines that subtly resemble a dollar sign, tying into the NBA star’s “Dame” identity.
The small seconds ring carries the phrase “Dame Time,” a well-known reference to Lillard’s clutch-shot celebration. For fans of the basketball player, it is one of the watch’s most recognizable personal touches.
Inside the Tissot PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard Special Edition is a manually wound mechanical movement. This sets it apart from many other PRX models, which often use automatic Powermatic 80 movements. According to Tissot, the hand-wound movement offers a power reserve of up to 52 hours. The hour and minute hands are treated with Super-LumiNova, improving readability in darker environments.
One of the most distinctive features of this special edition is its convertible design. Tissot includes a pocket watch conversion kit with the watch, allowing the case to be removed from the strap and placed into a dedicated leather holder with a chain. This means the watch can be worn on the wrist, carried in a pocket, or attached to a bag.
The conversion system uses a quick-release strap mechanism, so no tools are needed to switch between wristwatch and pocket watch modes. This unusual feature gives the model a more versatile and collectible character, especially for buyers looking for something different from a conventional luxury sports watch.
Tissot also includes two interchangeable burgundy straps with the watch. Buyers receive one rubber strap and one leather strap. The rubber strap features a pattern inspired by the improvised basketball hoops Lillard used during his childhood, which were made from milk crates. It is a small but meaningful reference to his early connection with the sport.
This is not the first time Tissot and Damian Lillard have worked together on a PRX model. A previous collaboration introduced a 40 mm gold-coloured version powered by an automatic movement. However, the new PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard Special Edition is significantly different in size, construction, movement type, and overall concept.
The larger 44 mm case may appeal to collectors who prefer bold wrist presence, though it could feel oversized for those with smaller wrists. Still, the combination of skeletonised mechanics, sports-inspired styling, interchangeable straps, and the pocket watch conversion kit makes it one of the more distinctive PRX models released so far.
The Tissot PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard Special Edition, reference T137.405.17.371.00, is currently listed at $2,075 in the United States and ₹2,11,500 in India. It is described as a special edition rather than a numbered limited-production release.
