Timex and BEAMS Unveil the Square Camper, a Limited-Edition Watch Blending Analog Charm With Digital Style
Timex and BEAMS have introduced the Square Camper, a limited-edition quartz watch created to celebrate BEAMS’ 50th anniversary. The new model brings together two distinct Timex design languages: the analog personality of the Original Camper and the rectangular, retro-digital look of the Classic Digital.
Limited to just 500 pieces, the Timex x BEAMS Square Camper is designed for collectors and fans of vintage-inspired watches. It is available in two color options, silver and gold, each offering a nostalgic design with a clever visual twist.
Rather than simply reusing an existing Timex case, BEAMS chose to develop the watch exterior from new molds. The rectangular case takes inspiration from the Timex Classic Digital, but instead of using an LCD display, the Square Camper features a traditional analog dial with hands, borrowing its character from the Original Camper.
One of the most distinctive details is found on the crystal. Printed elements on the inside of the acrylic crystal mimic the appearance of a digital display, creating the illusion that an analog watch is sitting beneath a vintage digital screen. This gives the Square Camper a playful, layered design that stands out from typical collaboration watches.
The watch features a brass case, an acrylic crystal, and an adjustable stainless-steel expansion bracelet. On the caseback, buyers will find special Timex and BEAMS branding, along with an engraving that reads “Limited 500 pieces,” emphasizing its collectible status.
Inside, the Square Camper is powered by a Japanese-made quartz movement. It offers 30 meters of water resistance and weighs approximately 65 grams, making it lightweight enough for everyday wear while still feeling substantial on the wrist.
BEAMS has also prepared special packaging for the anniversary release, adding to the appeal for collectors. The presentation, combined with the unusual analog-digital design concept, makes this one of the more eye-catching Timex collaborations in recent memory.
Pre-orders for the Timex x BEAMS Square Camper opened on July 24, with general sales beginning in Japan on August 15 through the BEAMS online store and select retail locations. The silver model is priced at ¥23,980, around $151, while the gold version costs ¥26,400, roughly $166.
At the moment, there is no confirmed international release. With only 500 units being produced, availability is expected to be extremely limited, making the Square Camper a likely target for watch enthusiasts, Timex collectors, and fans of BEAMS’ anniversary collaborations.
