Timex Takes the Plunge With Budget-Friendly Deepwater Arctic Divers Featuring Gradient Dials and Sapphire Crystal

Timex Deepwater Arctic 200 Gets Stylish New Gradient Dials and Tough Dive Watch Specs

Timex is giving its Deepwater Arctic 200 dive watch a fresh new look, and the result is one of the brand’s most attractive affordable divers yet. The latest versions arrive with eye-catching dégradé dials, durable rubber straps, and a strong feature set that includes 200-meter water resistance, a sapphire crystal, and a ceramic bezel.

For years, Timex was best known for reliable everyday watches rather than serious dive-inspired models. That perception began to shift when the Deepwater collection arrived with classic tool-watch styling and practical specifications at a price that remained easy to reach. Now, the Deepwater Arctic 200 is getting an upgrade that makes it feel even more refined without losing its rugged appeal.

The biggest change is the new dial treatment. Timex is offering two versions, each with a gradient finish that adds depth and character to the watch face.

The blue model features a rich blue center that slowly darkens toward the outer edge of the dial. It pairs neatly with a matching blue ceramic bezel and blue HNBR rubber strap, giving the watch a clean, ocean-inspired look that fits the dive-watch theme perfectly.

The second version takes a darker approach with a smoky grey dial. It begins with a lighter charcoal tone at the center and fades into a near-black edge, blending smoothly with the black ceramic bezel. This version has a more understated and tactical feel, making it a strong choice for those who prefer a versatile everyday diver.

Both new Timex Deepwater Arctic 200 watches keep the same 40.5mm stainless steel case as the earlier models. The case size should appeal to buyers who want a dive watch with presence but not something overly large. A 47mm lug-to-lug measurement and 11.5mm thickness also help keep the proportions wearable for many wrist sizes.

The design remains true to the tool-watch formula. A large crown guard adds a rugged touch, while the screw-down crown and screw-on case back help support the 200-meter water resistance rating. The unidirectional rotating bezel uses a ceramic insert and includes a luminous pip for better visibility in low-light conditions.

Timex has also equipped the watch with a sapphire crystal featuring an anti-reflective coating. That is a welcome detail at this price point, as sapphire offers much better scratch resistance than mineral glass. The hands and hour markers use Super-LumiNova, improving legibility in darker environments.

The new models replace the stainless steel bracelets of earlier versions with HNBR synthetic rubber straps. Timex says this material is built to resist water, heat, corrosion, and UV exposure. Quick-release spring bars make strap changes simple, allowing owners to easily swap styles without tools.

Inside the watch is a quartz analog movement. While some enthusiasts may prefer mechanical movements, quartz keeps the watch accurate, reliable, and affordable. It also helps Timex deliver premium-feeling features such as a sapphire crystal and ceramic bezel at a competitive price.

Pricing starts at $259, £215, or €249 for the blue version. The smoky grey and black version costs slightly more at $269, £225, or €259. In India, the blue model is priced at ₹24,995, while the smoky model is listed at ₹25,995.
