Threads Introduces Post Scheduling Feature for Testing

Meta’s social platform, Threads, is set to introduce a new feature allowing users to schedule their posts, as confirmed by Instagram’s head, Adam Mosseri. This development aims to give users more control in planning their posts without losing the spontaneous charm of real-time conversations. However, scheduling replies will not be included in this feature rollout to maintain the immediacy and engagement of real-time interaction.

For those participating in the test phase, the option to schedule posts can be accessed via the three-dot menu in the post composer. Scheduled posts will be stored in a drafts folder, allowing users to edit, delete, or modify the timing of their posts before they go live.

This feature has been in development for several months, reflecting the ongoing efforts to enhance user experience on the platform. While app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi hinted at its potential launch earlier this year, it’s now on the brink of becoming a reality.

In related updates, Instagram has recently empowered its users with the ability to schedule direct messages, complementing its existing feature of scheduling posts for the main feed.

In a statement made on Tuesday, Mark Zuckerberg highlighted the growing popularity of Threads, boasting over 100 million daily active users and 300 million monthly active users. This surge in user engagement underscores the platform’s potential to innovate and deliver features that resonate with its audience.
