Meta’s microblogging platform, Threads, is experiencing a remarkable surge in growth since its introduction last year. This momentum appears to have gained additional traction due to users migrating from its competitor, X, in recent months. On Monday, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, announced that Threads now boasts over 100 million daily active users and has expanded its reach to 300 million monthly active users, up from 275 million in November.
This marks the first occasion that Threads has disclosed its daily active user figures, complementing its regular updates on monthly user engagement.
In an effort to further capitalize on this growth and distinguish itself in the social media landscape, Meta has been proactively unveiling statistics and new features. This strategy coincides with a growing interest in another competitor, Bluesky, which has attracted over 25 million users following a similar shift away from X. Adam Mosseri, a notable figure at Meta, highlighted last month that Threads has consistently seen around a million new sign-ups each day for the past three months.
To entice even more users, Meta has introduced several enhancements to Threads. These include customizable feeds, curated “starter packs” of accounts for new users to follow, and the ability to personalize the default feed experience. These initiatives not only cater to the growing user base but also aim to solidify Threads as a leader in the dynamic world of social networking.
