The elusive entry-level RDNA 3 GPU has yet to make an official debut, but leaked images suggest its existence. A Radeon RX “7500” has been spotted featuring the NAVI 33 GPU die and 1536 Stream Processors.
AMD’s previous attempts in the entry-level market, like the RX 6400 and RX 6500 XT, didn’t capture much interest due to limited VRAM and performance constraints. The same seemed to be happening with the rumored RX 7000 series, including the RX 7300 and RX 7400, yet the RX “7500” largely flew under the radar—until now.
Surprisingly, details and images of the RX “7500” have emerged, thanks to user leaks. The card, equipped with a cut-down NAVI 33 XE die, includes a 96-bit memory bus, resulting in 6 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. This makes it considerably less powerful than its RX 7600 counterpart.
Despite GPU-Z confirming the specifications, the card’s unofficial status leaves some details, like clock speeds, undisclosed. The GPU operates at an unusually low frequency of 300 MHz, and the reasons behind AMD’s decision not to release it remain unclear. It seems unlikely that this card will ever hit the market.
With 8 GB cards becoming outdated, a budget-friendly option like the RX 7500 with 6 GB memory could cater to entry-level gamers. However, AMD appears uninterested in pursuing offerings in the $100-$200 range, sticking with pricier $300 options alongside NVIDIA, leaving budget gamers underserved.
There’s a slim possibility we might see the RX 7300 or RX 7400 materialize, especially with recent software updates hinting at support. Yet, as time passes, focus may shift towards the next-generation RX 9050 instead.
