Tesla cuts Model Y APR, rolls out lease special with a complimentary option upgrade

Tesla is sweetening the deal on its most popular cars with lower interest rates, cheaper leases, and a free upgrade perk that adds extra value without inflating the monthly payment. With the Model Y no longer eligible for a federal tax credit and the lineup now spanning the more affordable Standard and the punchy Performance variants, the company is turning to tried-and-true incentives to keep demand high.

The headline change is financing. The APR for both Model Y and Model 3 has been cut to 1.99% for up to 72 months, more than halving previous rates. With that reduction, Model Y loan payments can start around $638 per month, depending on configuration, taxes, and fees.

Leasing gets a significant discount as well. Tesla has reduced the starting lease price for Model Y by 9.5%. A Model Y Premium RWD is advertised at $479 per month on a 36‑month term with $3,000 down, and the brand is layering on a free upgrade offer to sweeten the pot. On any Model Y lease, you can add one of the following at no extra cost:
– Exterior color: Pearl White Multi‑Coat, Deep Blue Metallic, Diamond Black, Quicksilver, or Ultra Red
– 20-inch Helix 2.0 all‑season wheels
– White interior with perforated vegan leather upholstery
– Class II steel tow hitch rated for 3,500 lbs

The Model 3 offer is even more aggressive. Tesla has slashed the starting lease price by 23%, bringing the entry point to just $329 per month, with the same 1.99% APR available for financing. Each Model 3 lease also includes one free upgrade from this list:
– Exterior color: Pearl White Multi‑Coat, Deep Blue Metallic, Diamond Black, Quicksilver, or Ultra Red
– 19-inch Nova wheels
– White interior

What this means if you’re shopping: lower APRs can significantly reduce total interest paid over a six‑year loan, and the lease price cuts bring monthly costs down without sacrificing features. The complimentary upgrade can add visual flair, capability, or comfort—whether that’s a premium paint, larger wheels, a tow hitch for weekend gear, or the bright, minimalist white cabin many buyers love.

As always, actual payments will vary by credit approval, location, taxes, fees, and selected configuration. If you’ve been on the fence due to higher rates or shifting incentives, these pricing moves on Model Y and Model 3 make it a compelling time to take another look.
